Ancient Mesopotamia was the first civilization that we know of. They had lots of people that were born powerful leaders such as Nebuchadnezzar II, Abraham, and Alexander the great and many more. Mesopotamian's were the first to invent a lot of things such as the plow, Cuneiaform, the wheel, the sailboat, the chariot etc. The word Mesopotamia means land between to rivers. Those two rivers are the Tigris river and the Euphrates river. Some Mesopotamian's believed in many different Gods. This type of belief is called polytheism. Others believed in one God. this type of belief is called monotheism. The rulings were always changing do to who one the wars to get more land, power, and ruling. This civilization fell after the Assyrians attacked the Mesopotamian's. Mesopotamia was a civilization from 5000-3500 BCE. If not for the Mesopotamian's who knows what we would have today and what we wouldn't have.
